The Prattville City Council approved a resolution setting a public hearing on Sept. 1, 2026, at 6 p.m. to consider rezoning property at 403 Durden Road from R-3 (single-family residential) to T-1 (manufactured home subdivision).
Councilor Newman read the resolution and identified Monya Ray Carver as the petitioner and noted the Planning Commission on July 16, 2026 did not recommend the reclassification. The resolution calls for advertising and public notice as required; the council adopted the resolution by voice vote.
Councilors indicated the ordinance language and map changes will remain part of the code if approved following the public hearing. The ordinance portion will be held over until after the public hearing on Sept. 1 so the council can consider testimony and any additional materials.
