NGA tells board carrier migrations are underway; FCC set a six‑month build window after PSAP submissions

Michelle Bland of NGA 9‑1‑1 told the board NGA is migrating carriers off legacy copper networks and that the migration to NGA’s next‑generation network is in progress for Elko County.
"Once that's done, the Frontier 9 1 1 copper lines will be, no longer in use and you will have full redundancy in your network," Bland said, summarizing the expected result of completed migrations. She added that Verizon and T‑Mobile traffic have already been moved, and that AT&T Mobility and Frontier are in testing or scheduled for migration. Bland said the FCC issued an order giving carriers six months to build out their networks after a PSAP submission, which places a firmer timeline on migrations following the county’s submissions.
Bland said NGA submitted Elko County West Wendover for the FCC rule and that NGA will coordinate migrations with county staff. Board members had no questions and thanked Bland for the update.
