District hears recommendation to join Protect Lake County advisory team; vote scheduled May 20

Ms. Jurmu, Director of Safety and Security, presented a recommendation that District 112 enter a Memorandum of Understanding to join the Protect Lake County Community Support Team. The team would serve as an advisory group of law enforcement, mental‑health professionals, and educational institutions to improve threat assessment, share expertise on concerning behaviors, and provide coordinated case management support.
Administration told the board membership has no cost and would provide training opportunities for district staff on behavioral indicators and bystander intervention. The board was told the MOU will be brought back for formal approval at the May 20, 2025 regular meeting.
