County reports recurring electrical problems at Fire Tower Road tank; surge suppressor on order

County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners that the Fire Tower Road water-tank system suffered another outage and the county engaged Hammock Wells after its usual contractor could not respond immediately. "We called a company called Hammock Wells, they came out and he came out in an hour. We feel like it is an electrical issue," Weaver said in the meeting minutes.
Manager Weaver said the county will consider an HVAC unit for the computer/control components if the issue is not electrical and that Burgamy Electric has completed some repairs on well #3. A surge suppression system is being manufactured in Texas and Weaver said it is expected to arrive in approximately 20 days; the county is also assessing a sunken ground field and may hire an electrical contractor if necessary.
