Cusseta-Chattahoochee Commission adopts 2026 meeting calendar after vote on work-session hours

The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta-Chattahoochee County voted Dec. 2 to adopt its 2026 meeting calendar, setting regular sessions and work sessions for the year and approving an associated resolution.
Commission debate focused on the time of monthly work sessions. A motion to set work sessions at 4 p.m. received two votes in favor (Commissioners Jason Frost and Damon Hoyte) and two opposed (Commissioners Timothy Biddle and Gerald Douglas); Chairman Charles Coffey cast the deciding vote against the 4 p.m. proposal. As the minutes record, "there were 2 yays, and 3 nays for the motion of the 4AM Work Session." A subsequent motion to schedule work sessions at 9 a.m. carried after Coffey again broke a tie in favor of the 9 a.m. slot.
Commissioners said the choice reflected availability for the public and county employees. The adopted calendar (also filed as a resolution) lists dates and times for regular meetings and explains that work sessions are normally on the fourth Monday at 9:00 a.m. with the meeting location at 215 McNaughton St.
The calendar vote was listed among routine business that also included unanimous approvals of several minutes and other annual items at the Dec. 2 meeting. The commission’s resolution adopting the calendar was recorded in the official minutes and incorporated into the meeting packet.
