Deputy Commissioner John Hull described several highlighted projects: a $165 million rest areas and welcome centers program to build five new welcome centers and four new rest areas and renovate others; creation of new state parks (Buffalo River Blue Way at ~448 acres, Roaring Creek at ~1,300 acres); relocation of the Army National Guard aviation support facility and construction of aviation support spaces; and renovations that will allow moving the Department of Children's Services out of a leased UBS building, saving roughly $1.2 million per year. The panel also reviewed inflation and bidding trends, noting a recent uptick in bidders and cautioning committees to budget for multi‑year procurements.
