Officials stress cybersecurity and explain data center move to cloud, citing budget tradeoffs

Officials also described migrating the on‑premises data center to the cloud: they said FY26 funding covered roughly half the vacate work and that finishing the vacate in FY27 would avoid about $15,000,000 in duplicate facility costs. "If we don't finish that vacate, we're paying for two locations," the CIO said, urging the committee to consider the budgetary tradeoff during session.
