Technical staff gave a site-by-site status report. Peyton said Grindstone is becoming accessible as snow melts, Pequop remains snowed in, and Lamoille Summit’s UPS is nonfunctional and should be replaced; Rindon has a transmitter bug causing channels to back-feed the network and also needs grounding and antenna adjustments. Peyton recommended weed control around fiber huts and minor equipment upgrades such as digital timers and LED lighting to reduce maintenance.
Board members discussed scheduling site visits for June to inspect Rendon, Lamoille, Grindstone and Airport sites, and directed staff to arrange contractors for vegetation control and to prepare necessary quotes. Peyton said the transmitters upgraded at Rindon are working well apart from the back-feed bug and that he will pursue vendor support and grounding work in spring.
