Board certifies April 1 canvass; four candidates win four-year terms

Salt Creek School District 48’s board accepted the DuPage County Board of Election Commissioners’ canvass of the April 1, 2025 school board election during a May 6 reorganization meeting. The district’s reported totals were: James Blair (four-year term) 1,089 votes; Raymond Kielminski (four-year term) 1,045 votes; Stacy Rattana (four-year term) 1,111 votes; and James Van De Velde (four-year term) 1,069 votes. A two-year seat remained vacant following the April election.
The motion to accept and approve the canvass was made by Mr. Blair, seconded by Mr. Van De Velde, and carried on a roll-call vote with all seven board members voting aye. Dr. Zaher led board members in reaffirming the Oath of Office during the same meeting.
