District approves required Ten-Year Life Safety Survey, to submit to ISBE

The Board of Education of Township High School District 208 voted unanimously April 8 to approve the district's Ten-Year Life Safety Survey, a state-required review of building life-safety systems prepared by DLA Architects. Board member Lorena Gasca moved the approval; Carolyn Lach seconded the motion and all seven members voted aye.
The survey is required by the State of Illinois every ten years and, as approved, will be submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) for review. The board considered the draft included in the April 8 agenda packet and recorded the vote in the meeting minutes as follows: "The Board of Education, Township High School District 208, Cook County, Illinois, approves the Ten-Year Life Safety Survey, as presented in the April 8, 2025, Board Agenda Packet." The approval clears the district to proceed with any recommended life-safety work subject to ISBE review.
