Elko County approves 55-acre Jackpot land-transfer for housing project

Corey Rice, Elko County surveyor and senior planner, presented resolution 202507, describing a proposed transfer of about 55 acres (Parcel 98-306) to Summit Edge for housing development in Jackpot. "This 1 is looking really, really promising. I think we're actually gonna be able to see this 1 through," Rice said, recommending approval.
Amanda (S2) explained next steps: if the resolution is approved the item will proceed to a zone-change hearing at the planning commission, followed by tentative and final maps and a development agreement that will return to the board. Commissioners spoke in favor, noting the county's prior ARPA funding priorities for Jackpot and the town's relative self-sufficiency; Committee member (S5) moved to approve the resolution and the motion carried.
