Rankin board hears reports: enrollment 209, facilities in compliance, PFK fundraiser sold out

Administrators reported current enrollment at 209 students and shared committee and department updates. Dr. Matt Gordon summarized committee activity and finance items and directed the board to Principal April McLaughlin's December report. The district reported that IDPH inspected the water wells and the district is in compliance.
Gina Perry, PFK president, said the Santa Shop sold out and that PFK's current balance is approximately $5,500; PFK plans to provide Rankin t-shirts to all students and staff as a Christmas gift. Dr. Gordon reviewed student-discipline data against a seven-year average and noted increases in lunch detentions and after-school detentions compared with 2023-24; updated data will be provided in spring.
The board also heard summaries from the Health Insurance and Technology committees and was briefed on possible Series 2017 bond refinancing, the future of the cross-country co-op with South Pekin (renewal to be considered in spring), and transportation options (City of Pekin will provide transportation through 2025-26; no activity bus purchase is planned at this time).
