Rankin board ratifies multiple personnel actions, hires new principal and food services director

After returning from executive session, the Rankin Board approved multiple personnel actions on Feb. 24. The board approved a Food Services Director/Head Custodian job description and employed Ronda Bryant retroactive to Feb. 14, 2025, at $21.68 per hour. The board also approved an Assistant Food Services Director/Custodian job description and employed Valerie Hoehn retroactive to Feb. 20, 2025, at $16.01 per hour, and hired Huston Gillespie as a custodian beginning Feb. 24, 2025, at $15.12 per hour.
In certified-staff action, the board approved a contract to employ Nicholas (Nick) Beard as Principal/Athletic Director for the term July 1, 2025–June 30, 2026, and approved Nicole Washkowiak as assistant boys track and field coach for the 2024–25 school year (3.10% of the 2024–25 base salary). All personnel motions passed by roll-call votes recorded as unanimous where noted. Administration said job descriptions and evaluation forms were approved to align with the new hires.
