Rankin board approves support and substitute wage adjustments tied to new minimum wage

A separate motion by Member Helfers to approve substitute staff wage adjustments was seconded by Member Cox and likewise passed 5-0.
Dr. Matt Gordon had earlier discussed the district's approach to adjusting pay in light of a new minimum wage law. During that discussion he referenced the law's timing, noting the "final change January 1, 2025," and described the district's intent to align wage structure with job responsibilities and length of service. The board reviewed related disciplinary and staffing committee reports before voting on the adjustments.
