Prospect Heights board approves SSCIP renewal, expands cyber coverage option

Assistant Superintendent for Finance & Operations Amy McPartlin presented the renewal, citing SSCIP's pool-wide cyber loss-control program (risk assessments, phishing exercises, vulnerability scans and multi-factor authentication services). The district's commitment to those services produced a decrease in the base cyber premium, but the board approved the expanded cyber aggregate option in part to increase the district's aggregate protection. "Motion to approve the District's renewal of property, casualty and cyber liability insurance coverages through the Suburban School Cooperative Insurance Pool as presented in the total amount of $119,732," the minutes record, a motion made and passed during the meeting.
Board members asked clarifying questions about premium drivers and optional coverage tiers. The SSCIP invoice attached to meeting materials lists a base package premium of $91,092 (excl. cyber offsets), a cyber premium of $22,524 for a $3 million aggregate, and an optional $4 million aggregate increase priced at $5,424. The board's vote authorized the renewal consistent with the administration's recommendation; the motion passed on the record with all voting members present.
The district's materials also note a separate optional "Crisis Protect" program at $691 annually and describe the pool's retention/surplus reductions and how student counts and property values feed rating variables. Administration said it will proceed with the payment and confirm the final aggregate limit and any additional crisis services purchased.
