Board approves county actions including ADA coordinator appointment, mileage rate change and jail wage-scale implementation

At its July 28 meeting, the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors approved a set of administrative and personnel actions. The board appointed Garfield Coleman and the Risk Management Team as the county’s primary contact as ADA Coordinator and unanimously approved a change to the Federal Standard Mileage Rate for the remainder of 2026 to $0.76 per mile effective August 1, 2026.
The board also convened a closed session under Iowa Code §21.5(1)(c) for pending or potential litigation and then returned to open session. After returning, the board authorized the Auditor to implement a wage scale for the jail "as discussed in Closed Session for the Jail." The meeting adjourned at 12:20 p.m.
