Consultant: surplus FEMA funds from 2024 flood need not be returned; more FEMA reimbursements expected

During the South Noble Lake Drainage District meeting June 30, consultant Jon Rosengren of Bolton & Menk advised trustees that surplus FEMA funds from the 2024 flood do not need to be returned to FEMA and that this should not affect future disaster recovery funding requests. The statement followed discussion and approval of a $10,200 claim to Fox Dirt for repair of a FEMA-designated washout.
Rosengren also told trustees that additional claims are expected from two other FEMA sites that will complete the FEMA work and that additional FEMA funding is expected to reimburse those repairs. Trustees took the payments and consultant updates as recorded in the minutes; no contradictory statements or appeals were recorded.
