South Noble Drainage District approves $10,200 repair claim for FEMA washout

Trustees of the South Noble Lake Drainage District voted unanimously June 30 to approve a $10,200 claim from contractor Fox Dirt for repair of a FEMA-designated washout. The motion was made by Trustee Susan Miller and seconded by Trustee Jeff Jorgensen; the minutes record the motion carried unanimously.
Consultant Jon Rosengren of Bolton & Menk said the embankment at the FEMA site was rebuilt and that two additional FEMA sites are expected to submit claims to complete FEMA work. Rosengren also advised the board that surplus funds from FEMA tied to the 2024 flood do not need to be returned and should not affect future disaster recovery funding requests. Trustees closed the South Noble meeting after the action.
