Board to redo Sarah Taylor and Robert Miller assessment hearings after voting conflict

Staff told the board that an individual, identified in the meeting as Mr. Brewer, owns property in the Sarah Taylor and Robert Miller watersheds and therefore should not have participated in the original assessment votes.
"He should have not voted in either of those watersheds," the staff member said, and the board agreed the prior results would be thrown out. The staff member took responsibility for not catching the conflict at the original meeting and proposed rescheduling the assessment hearings so notices could be sent and the process repeated with Mr. Brewer not voting.
A board member moved to schedule the Sarah Taylor and Robert Miller assessment hearings for the board's regular meeting on Oct. 6; the motion was seconded and approved. The staff emphasized the rescheduling would not change the proposed assessments themselves, only the process to correct the voting conflict.
