Brenton Lewis, Ingleside's city manager, told the council the cities are negotiating with a supplier identified in the discussion as '7 Seas' and that Aransas Pass would purchase water through Ingleside under the negotiated water service agreement. Lewis said both cities would work together on rates and that Aransas Pass would pay the same rates Ingleside negotiates with the supplier; any final agreement would require approval by both governing bodies.
Council members asked questions about contract length and protections; Lewis said proposals under consideration included 15‑ to 30‑year contract terms and that the agreement would be tailored so Aransas Pass pays the same rates Ingleside pays. The council voted to authorize the mayor to execute the MOU, which is nonbinding and intended to allow information sharing and feasibility evaluation.
