Braithwaite said an Element Construction‑led paving project around the fire station (a roughly $1,000,000 job) is under construction and expected to finish by the end of June, with the RTC contributing about $238,000. He said the Arthur Springs main waterline replacement will be bid shortly and is estimated at $1,415,000; Carlin secured an $878,000 NDEP State Revolving Fund/State CAP grant to cover part of that work and will pay the remainder from city cash.
On wastewater, Braithwaite described a solids‑screening facility project estimated at $1,300,000 with a $602,000 grant and the city's share financed from cash. He also reported an emergency sewer line collapse estimated at roughly $109,000, which the city plans to pay from cash reserves.
Braithwaite said the city has applied for a $5,000,000 congressional grant to support a $6,400,000 replacement of the Oak Street sewer lift station; the grant would require a 20 percent city match. "That will go towards a $6,400,000 replacement of our Oak Street sewer lift station, the most critical component in the entire system," Braithwaite said, describing the lift station as beyond its economic useful life.
Braithwaite said the city is committing cash to several projects and may request RTC or county help for project‑specific needs, as with the Carlin Trend Drive cattle‑guard request discussed separately.
