Crainville approves Samron payments for Landing Drive, adds Marion Street items to 2026 MFT proposal

PSC engineer reported Landing Drive work is complete and the board approved $5,580 to Samron; the board also approved Samron's $6,730.03 retainage to close 2025 MFT and accepted a recommendation to add unfinished Marion Street items (two steep driveways, a lowered manhole and a water‑holding intersection) to the 2026 MFT proposal.
Rodney Potts of PSC Engineering told the board that Samron has completed work on Landing Drive and requested final payment of $5,580.00 from the General Fund for phase four of the contract. The board approved the payment (motion moved by Mike Harbin, seconded by Jim Rains) and recorded the motion as carried.
Potts said IDOT is urging the Village to close out the 2025 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) program but that work remains on Marion Street. He asked the board to include three items in the 2026 MFT proposal: two driveways that are too steep, a manhole that needs to be leveled, and evaluation of an intersection at Marion/Main that is holding water after rain. To close out 2025 MFT the Village approved paying Samron a retainage fee of $6,730.03 (motion moved by Julie Aue, seconded by Jim Rains). Potts said adding the outstanding Marion Street items to the 2026 proposal should not require rebidding the project.
