District to reopen RFQ for lobbying services beginning Feb. 2026

The presenter described the RFQ as a request to receive proposals and qualifications from firms interested in representing the school board and said the document updates are largely timing and expectation clarifications rather than major scope changes. “The agenda item is for a request for qualifications to get proposals and qualifications for anyone interested in providing lobbying services on behalf of the school board,” staff said.
Committee members debated whether to negotiate with the incumbent or invite other firms; staff noted the current contract extends through Jan. 31 and the RFQ would solicit services starting Feb. 1, 2026. The committee agreed to open the process and staff said a review committee will evaluate proposals and return recommendations for negotiation and contract award.
