Committee forwards three candidate sites for Lebanon wastewater plant to mayor and council

The City of Lebanon Wastewater Site Selection Committee voted to recommend three candidate locations — Sites 22, 13 and 7 — to the mayor and city council for additional study rather than making a final selection tonight. The committee chair said the panel’s role was to compile options and that “nothing’s decided tonight.”
Committee discussion acknowledged remaining questions about costs, easements and infrastructure before any site could be selected. A motion to forward the candidate sites for further analysis was made and seconded; an amendment removing Site 2 from the list was accepted. The chair announced, “Motion carries unanimously.” The committee emphasized this was a recommendation and that additional studies, cost estimates and council work sessions will follow.
The committee began with 22 candidate sites and narrowed them to four for review; members said property owners for the three recommended sites had indicated they would discuss selling or talking to the city but had made no commitments. The next step is for the mayor and city council to review the committee’s recommendation and commission further technical, fiscal and legal analysis.
