Cedar County adopts updated Hazard Mitigation Plan to preserve FEMA funding eligibility

County officials said the formal adoption is required by the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 as a condition for pre-disaster and post-disaster federal mitigation funding and for FEMA review and approval. The board’s motion to adopt passed with the recorded vote entry "Ayes: All." The resolution states the plan will be forwarded to FEMA for final approval at the federal level.
