Cedar County approves utility permits for Alliant Energy and Eastern Iowa REC; one abstention recorded

The Cedar County Board of Supervisors approved three utility permits during its July 21 meeting. Supervisor Gaul moved to approve a permit for Alliant Energy on 150th Street with a $100 fee; Supervisor Barnhart seconded and the motion carried with Kaufmann recorded as absent.
The Board also approved two separate permits for Eastern Iowa REC — one on Eureka Avenue and one on Taylor Avenue — each with a $100 permit fee. Both REC motions were moved by Supervisor Barnhart and seconded by Chairperson Jon Bell; the minutes record that Supervisor Bixler abstained on both REC permits and Supervisor Kaufmann was absent for those votes.
