Summary

The Architectural Review Board recommended approval for a revised Fischer Homes single-family design at 12327 Wildlife Trail on a 5–2 voice vote during its July 6 meeting.
Dan O'Connell, Director of Architecture for Fischer Homes, said the Coastal Classic elevation replaces an earlier design after board feedback that two identical designs could not appear on the same street. He described the updated exterior as "dark brick that wraps the house with gray-white siding, gray accents, and white trim," and said coastal styling relies on "layering of roof types with more asymmetrical designs and randomly placed windows."
Board members raised stylistic concerns. Mr. Ivy said "too much roof de-emphasizes the front door" and called the roof slopes without "discernable style," suggesting the side elevations are plain and recommending a larger gable vent or shake on the gables. Mr. Sutcu also urged more emphasis on the vertical front entry, saying the entry "was the most important vertical element on the front elevation and thus needed more focus." O'Connell responded that the porch columns and projecting entry will draw the eye and that clipped gables could help integrate hip-roof language to the sides.
After public comment was requested and none was offered, Mr. Ivy moved to approve and Mrs. Riney seconded. The voice vote to recommend approval was: AYE — Chairman Hughes, Members Benes, Jaworski, Riney, and Salthouse; NAY — Members Ivy and Sutcu; ABSENT — Member Proost. The Board's recommendation authorizes the issuance of a building permit when requirements of all applicable codes and ordinances have been met.
Next steps: Fischer Homes may proceed toward permit submission and construction documentation reflecting the approved Coastal Classic elevation and any conditions required to meet applicable codes.
