Daniel Dupee, president of Jefferson Community College, presented the college's 2026–2027 budget, capital progress and fall capital requests to the Finance & Rules Committee, saying enrollment indicators — first-year credit momentum and three‑year graduation rates — are improving. He told the Committee the college's funding mix for FY2027 is about 35% local share, 37% tuition and fees, 24% state aid and 4% offsets and that the net annual price of attendance is $7,724.
Dupee asked the County for a 2% increase in local funding, a request that would total $113,919. He identified primary cost drivers as raises ($437,546) and benefits ($1,033,761) and said the college and Jefferson County are pursuing creative, longer‑term funding streams to sustain high‑cost programs in health care and technology. Following the presentation, the Committee introduced and agreed to sponsor a resolution adopting the 2026–2027 Jefferson Community College budget and appropriating funds for the coming fiscal year.
