Council adopts policy for leased downtown parking spaces

Administrator Broyles presented a brief leased-parking policy for four city lots and asked council to approve a short policy to clarify notifications for downtown events, allowable vehicle types, subletting rules and cancellation terms. Broyles said the policy was reviewed by the city attorney and recommended the fees be placed in the city's fee schedule.
"The policy would apply to current and future lessees and be distributed in the next 0.25 billing to all lessees," Administrator Broyles said. The policy prohibits subletting, disallows non-motorized vehicles in lease spaces, and allows either party to exit the lease with a 30-day written notice; council approved the motion to adopt the policy by voice vote.
