The Brainerd City Council conducted the final reading and adopted ordinance 16 o 7 on Aug. 3, amending sections related to intoxicating liquor and appendix items, and set a fee structure for the Northern Pacific Center license. City staff reported the first reading occurred July 20 and that there were no changes to the proposed ordinance since that reading. The ordinance sets the fee at $6,000 per year plus an investigation fee for the Northern Pacific Center license; the council also adopted a related resolution providing for summary publication of the ordinance.
"The fee is $6,000 a year plus investigation fee for the Northern Pacific Center license, and the council did opt to forego the public hearing," staff said during the final-reading agenda item. Council moved to dispense with the reading, adopt the ordinance and then adopt the resolution; roll-call votes recorded support across council members and each motion carried.
