District court reports use of Repath monitoring app for pretrial supervision

A district court representative reported on Repath, a mobile and GPS monitoring application the courts adopted for pretrial supervision and bond supervision. Theresa, the chief court services officer, said the program has enrolled 15 individuals since adoption, with seven currently active, and that it supports exclusion zones, curfew monitoring and an immediate check-in function used for locating subjects when necessary.
Court staff told commissioners the application helps limit pretrial incarceration for lower-risk defendants while maintaining public-safety oversight. Theresa said the system can alert staff if a defendant powers down location services or leaves an exclusion zone and that staff have used Repath data in court for violations and compliance hearings.
