The South Harrison Community School Board on July 27 approved a large personnel consent agenda covering hires, transfers, resignations and volunteer appointments across the district for the 2026–2027 school year.
The motion to approve all items under "Consent Agenda, Personnel" was made by Barbara Smith and seconded by Steven Simler; the motion passed 6–0 with Nick Evans recorded as absent. Items approved included substitute and instructional assistant hires, coaching appointments at Corydon Central and South Central, and several transfers and resignations. Specific approvals listed in the minutes included the hire of Boyd Gudgel as a special education teacher at Corydon Central High School (employment contingent upon proper licensure) and approval of Mikel Breeden as golf varsity assistant coach for 2026–2027.
The consent agenda also authorized a $5-per-day additional payment for Kevin Barrow to cover extra delivery duties to and from South Central Campus. Other personnel actions included transfers to dean and MTSS coordinator roles, multiple instructional assistant hires, and acceptance of several resignations across elementary and secondary schools.
The approvals affect staffing and coaching rosters across Corydon Central High School, Corydon Central Junior High, Corydon Intermediate, Corydon Elementary, Heth-Washington, New Middletown and South Central campuses. The board did not discuss individual personnel details in public minutes beyond the items listed for approval.
