Staff also proposed adding an IPAWS-capable mass-alert system as an add‑on to the county's text‑notification vendor, and to replace the county's current online‑payment vendor with Caselle's payment portal to permit credit‑card and on‑site payments at recycling and animal‑adoption locations. Weaver said staff would present cost estimates and bring the items forward as voting items at the Sept. 2 regular meeting.
Public‑works updates included placing millings on Steeplechase, culvert repair at Firetower Road, and follow-up on quotes for a Riverbend fishing dock; staff noted one grant previously expected for Firetower Road shoulder work from DOT had been withdrawn and the county may do in‑house repairs.
