The Commission authorized staff to put Friendship Road out to bid at the June 3 meeting; the County Manager said the bid will include "one coat, striping, and resurface." Commissioners voted unanimously to approve soliciting bids and expect to open bids in late July and be prepared to award by the August meeting, depending on contractor availability.
Separately, Commissioner Timothy Biddle reported constituent calls about potholes on Riverbend Road. County Manager Thomas Weaver said Public Works is evaluating interim repairs and will develop a plan for more complete work. The board also discussed Local Road Assistance (LRAC) eligibility for longer-term repairs and noted a specific deteriorating spot on Liberty Hill Road.
