The Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County Commission voted Aug. 5 to award the Friendship Road 2025 LMIG resurfacing contract to Oxford Construction, whose low bid of $358,750 was accepted after county engineering staff reviewed two bids.
SOWEGA Engineering and county staff opened bids July 22 and tabulated the results for the commission. The two bids recorded in the packet were Oxford Construction at $358,750 and Robinson/Scuggs (Robinson Paving) at $386,118.85. County Manager Tom Weaver and SOWEGA engineer J. Paul Rakel reviewed the bids for completeness and compliance before the motion to accept Oxford's bid passed unanimously.
The commission did not discuss specific construction start dates in the minutes; the award authorizes county staff to proceed with contracting and scheduling the resurfacing work under the LMIG program.
