Supporters argued in‑house recruitment could be faster and save tens of thousands of dollars, while others warned the district must preserve staff and stakeholder input and devise objective selection criteria. The board directed a planning committee to draft a timeline, define stakeholder roles and set the panels that will review applications; the committee will report back to the board with a charter for the search.
