Council approves preliminary plan for Little Caesars at Gateway Plaza

The Maumelle City Council voted to adopt Resolution 2026-24, approving a preliminary development plan for Lot 700A at Maumelle Gateway Plaza to accommodate a Little Caesars restaurant. Scott Grummer, the project's presenter, said the parcel "is the 2nd restaurant to be, approved at this development at Gateway Plaza" and noted that the plan meets the development intent aside from a few items that must be addressed on the final plan.
Council members asked about landscaping and vehicle stacking at the drive-through. Grummer described additional landscaping on the northwest corner, a requirement for "four-foot high screening bushes" to shield headlights from Maumelle Boulevard, and a berm and fence to screen an adjacent residential property. He said the individual lots are planned as stand-alone with requested pedestrian connectivity between adjoining properties via a crosswalk system. The mayor called the motion to adopt the resolution and declared the motion carried.
