Business groups, suppliers and workforce partners urge approval of Lam Research SIP

Jen Little, vice president of public affairs for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, told commissioners the chamber "strongly supports the strategic investment agreement between Washington County and the city of Tualatin and Lam Research," saying the project aligns with SIP objectives to attract significant private investment and jobs. Other supporters included the Oregon Business Council, Greater Portland Inc., the Westside Economic Alliance and local chambers; Pat Clemens of Mortenson described construction-job and apprenticeship opportunities.
Suppliers and contractors described knock-on effects: Accentech Engineering said its firm and other local suppliers would expand as Lam grows, and Greater Portland Inc. framed the investment as a cluster-strengthening move that helps the region compete for future projects. Supporters emphasized workforce partnerships with community colleges and local STEM programs as evidence the expansion would create sustainable, well-paid local careers.
