Members of the Chaney family addressed the council during public comment to thank the city and an individual they named as Stevie Rainier for allowing Cub Scout Pack 9307 to use Bukowski Park as a Cascade Bicycle Club STP hydration stop.
"With your support, we would like to continue this tradition every year in July and to be able to use the park again next year," the Chaney family said, noting about 6,000 riders passed their stop and listing sales and giveaways (more than 300 shots of pickle juice, 50 slices of banana bread, 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and 20 gallons of Gatorade). They described the event as an opportunity for Scouts to serve the community and raised it as a request to use the park again on an annual basis.
