Township manager reports sewer‑lining delay, water projects and rising pool revenue

Township Manager Kevin O'Sullivan told the council that start of the Derwent and Brookside sewer lining project was delayed by weather and has been pushed to next Monday; notices are being updated for residents in affected neighborhoods. He said the Fairview Avenue well project is under construction and remains on schedule for completion this calendar year, and that a Montclair interconnection meeting is scheduled for Aug. 24 to discuss feasibility and cost sharing.

Deputy Township Manager Michael Krauss reported financial and operations details: he said pool revenue has "ticked up to $1,044,150," exceeding earlier projections that included a $145,000 use of fund balance. Krauss also noted several capital and staffing items: a signed garage construction contract at the wastewater plant, security camera installation at the community center, and a $10,000 grant awarded for a compost pilot. Manager O'Sullivan said administration will continue outreach on Bloomfield Avenue streetscape work and noted state grant conditions that affect how that project must be bid and awarded.
