The council approved a resolution authorizing the township manager to execute a settlement agreement with La Bella Princess Cafe (555 Bloomfield Avenue) that allows the business to open while a variance application is under review. The resolution requires the cafe to be open to the general public a minimum number of hours per week as described in the settlement document; the council voted to adopt the measure and the resolution will be numbered 2026‑183.
Owner Martha Peralta told the council she operates themed parties and limited on‑site food and stressed that operating during the variance review period is necessary to sustain the small business. Peralta asked for clarity about hours and noted that running the full schedule during a long variance process would be onerous for a small operator. Township Attorney Bridal O'Loyah said discussions with the business's counsel produced an agreement the attorney will finalize, and the resolution authorizes the manager to execute the settlement and associated amendments.
