A motion to table selection and advertise passed; staff will accept applications and return to the council at a future meeting, with a target date of Oct. 5 for interviews and possible appointment.
One councilmember expressed concern about timing and asked staff to ensure the advertisement window is sufficient for applicants and for council to schedule interviews. The motion passed by voice vote.
