One councilmember suggested a performance bond or other financial guarantee be required and that the contract include clear termination language if the vendor’s performance falls short.
The council also asked staff to gather documentation of past collection efforts so the town and potential vendors can learn lessons from earlier contracts. Staff said they borrowed RFP language from another municipality and can amend the termination and bond language per council direction.
