The Escambia County Contractor Competency Board reinstated the delinquent license for Janssen Butterford of JMB Builders on Aug. 5 after staff presented a stipulation showing a small-claims case listed against the company had been paid in full.
Staff said Butterford's license was delinquent by one year, one month and 10 days and provided records including a small-claims case (No. 26002166CCMXAX) and a stipulation agreement showing payment. Butterford told the board he started the business in 2019, works hands-on, and primarily serves the north end of Santa Rosa County but was pursuing projects in Escambia County. The board moved, seconded and unanimously approved the reinstatement.
Board members advised Butterford to ensure permits and insurance are current when working in new jurisdictions; staff will update licensing records to reflect the reinstatement.
