The town board approved the sale of three tax liens identified in the meeting packet as 1-0044, 1-0045 and 1-0053. Town staff read the lien IDs and reported the base values including interest and fees; the sum given in the meeting was $5,293.40.
At the meeting, staff said Seth Finley had contacted the town and requested to purchase the tax claims. As recorded, staff advised that a buyer who wants to own the underlying property would need to proceed with foreclosure. A board motion to sell the liens was made and approved by voice vote.
The board discussed that lien amounts change over time because interest accrues and that an open authorization could allow a buyer to act before totals change further.
