District staff described plans to seek SVPCOPS funding to add cameras and expand remote access controls on key school doors. Staff said the district previously installed systems at some entry points and that a new grant would allow the district to add cameras and access controls where technology has changed or gaps remain.
"It's that kind of a system," one staff member said while describing access-controls and visitor-buzz-in arrangements at building entrances. Member Janet Bowden moved to approve the grant submission and Member Luke Jensen seconded; the committee voted 7–0 to authorize staff to apply and to cover any local match requirements as appropriate.
