Waco ISD announces holiday schedule and South Waco makerspace open house; trustee shares degree news

Elizabeth Cox told trustees that Friday, Dec. 19 will be the district's final day of classes for the calendar year and that all Waco ISD campuses and offices will be closed Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, with staff returning Jan. 5 and students Jan. 6. She invited the board to a South Waco Elementary makerspace dedication and open house on Jan. 5 tied to the 2021 bond program and a donor contribution from O'Connell Robertson.
During announcements, Trustee Davis told the board he had finished a bachelor's degree in public administration and city planning and encouraged students to pursue education goals. "I've finished my bachelor's degree in public administration and city planning," he said. Trustees congratulated Davis.
