Commissioners approve two-year snowplow agreement extension with Penobscot County

Hancock County commissioners voted to approve a two-year extension to the county’s existing snowplow arrangement that will let the county piggyback on Penobscot County’s contract for services on Nicholas Road. The board’s motion specified no change in the cost of services for the extension.

Speaking to the agreement, a staff member summarized the procurement rationale: “An obstruct county got a 2 year extension with a current, snowplow contractor, and, we can, piggyback on that.” The motion to approve the extension was made by S2 and seconded by S1 and passed by voice vote. The contract is a two-year extension to the existing arrangement; one commissioner noted the current approval follows an earlier two-year extension already in place.
