George Harvey, chair of the Friends of the Lynn Council on Aging, told the opening audience that the nonprofit will support programming and equipment at the new Lynn Senior Center and invited attendees to join as members. "We are a 5 0 1 c 3 nonprofit group," Harvey said, and described the group's role buying equipment and sponsoring activities.
Harvey announced a raffle to raise funds and said tickets are $10 each; the drawing will be held at the group's November 19 meeting at the senior center. He encouraged membership growth to sustain programming and said the Friends look forward to working with the new senior center director and staff.
