The Nottingham Select Board voted Aug. 3 to approve a Telview proposal for cloud‑based audiovisual upgrades to the meeting room and broadcasting systems, accepting a negotiated quote of $18,350.50 and authorizing withdrawal from the town's cable franchise fund.
Town Administrator Ellen White described the upgrade as the next step after phase one outfitted the room with cameras and microphones: "We've been able to, tune it down to about 18,000," White said during her presentation. White said the upgrade will enable on‑the‑fly meeting recording, automatic integration with the town YouTube channel and Comcast public access channel 22, and a more reliable cloud archive that is less vulnerable to local hardware glitches.
Board members supported the purchase and voted to withdraw the funds from the cable franchise account that accumulates annual revenues from the town's Comcast franchise agreement. The motion passed by voice vote. The administrator said she will provide a clean contract copy for signatures at the next meeting.
